Catch-up
June 23th, 2008
For those of you who may be... confused by today's strip, make sure to read the beginning of the story, "Executive Derision, Part 1: Fear of a One-Eyed Planet" to catch up.

I came into work this morning and found out that George Carlin died yesterday at the age of 71. What a way to start the week. When it first came out, I actually had parts of his book, "Brain Droppings" highlighted. I've never done that before or since. It just seemed... important.

Now as we all know, George was a staunch Frisbeetarian, and believed that when you die, your soul gets flung onto a roof, and just stays there. I think he would also appreciate it if everyone took a moment and offered a quick prayer to Joe Pesci on his behalf.

Enjoy eternal nothingness, George. You earned it!

Constant Reader
June 20th, 2008
I'm getting a good response from today's comic, and I'm glad, because I don't bust out the heartwarming stuff too often. I had originally intended this story to end on the Friday before Father's Day, but I miscalculated! So I consider this a BELATED Father's Day gift to my father, pictured here being totally awesome, who always supported and encouraged my cartooning growing up. He bought me my first computer, and when I was too young and stupid to use a T-square, he even used to make the comic panels for me! And I'm pretty sure he bought his own computer in recent years for two reasons: to rent terrible horror movies from Netflix, and to read my comic strip.

So even if all you guys decide I'm a big jerk and my wife divorces me and stops reading out of spite, I know I'll always have at least one reader :)

Also, reader and host of the CaffiNation podcast Paul Muller took it upon himself to make some Ugly Hill characters using the new Spore Creature Creator! Of course, I've made a few myself, as well. Paul did a great job on Hastings and Mr. Gooseberry, and I tried my hand at Eli. It... didn't go well. But I'm practicing! See Paul's creations and my own meager efforts here, in this Flickr Set.

Okay, so I guess Mothra trashed the building Blank Label's server are housed in and the site has been tanked for the last couple of days. Great! Make sure to hit that back button and check out the comics from Monday and Tuesday if you missed them. Also, Threadless has reprinted "The Morning After"! Click the link or the image below to check it out. And it's on sale for a limited time, to boot! Get your clown vomit while the gettin' clown vomit is good.

And man, I can't believe I neglected to post about this, but intrepid reader Donny has made probably the funniest fan/guest comic I've ever received. Click the thumbnail below for full-sized hilarity! Thanks, Donny. Seriously. L-O-L.
